Program Overview The R.I.S.E. Mentorship Program is a comprehensive youth and young adult development initiative of Recreational Inner-City Sports and Education, Inc. (R.I.S.E.). The program connects participants with caring, trained mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and practical life skills that help them succeed academically, personally, and professionally. Through consistent mentoring relationships, participants are encouraged to discover their strengths, set meaningful goals, overcome challenges, and become positive leaders within their families and communities. Mission To empower youth and young adults by fostering positive mentoring relationships that promote leadership, education, character, responsibility, and lifelong success. Vision To create a generation of confident, compassionate, and capable leaders who are equipped to make positive contributions to their communities.

Mentor Qualifications

R.I.S.E. mentors are committed adults who:
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
  • Complete screening and background checks.
  •  Participate in mentor orientation and ongoing training.
  •  Commit to consistent engagement with participants.
  •  Serve as positive role models through encouragement and accountability.

R.I.S.E. believes that every young person deserves encouragement, opportunity, and someone who believes in their potential. Through intentional mentoring, meaningful relationships, and community partnerships, we help participants build the skills, confidence, and character needed to thrive in school, in the workplace, and in life. This mentorship program pairs naturally with R.I.S.E. Real Men Read / Real Women Read initiative, creating a continuum of support in which literacy, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement reinforce one another to help young people reach their full potential.
